Why Do I Always Ask My Patients to Sit Up Before I Design Their Lifting Treatment? (5) - The Most Important Decision Isn't the Device—It's the Doctor

Why Thoughtful Design Will Always Matter More Than Cheap Prices
Patients often ask me a simple question.
"Doctor, why is there such a large difference in price for what appears to be the same lifting procedure?"
It's a reasonable question.
After all, if two clinics advertise the same device, the same treatment lines, and similar treatment times, shouldn't the results be similar?
Not necessarily.
Because in aesthetic medicine, you're not simply paying for the machine.
You're paying for the judgment behind it.
Time Is One of the Most Valuable Parts of Treatment
One of the biggest hidden differences between clinics is something patients rarely notice.
Time.
How much time does the physician spend evaluating your face?
How carefully is the treatment designed?
How much attention is given to your individual anatomy?
A thoughtful consultation cannot be rushed.
Neither can careful facial assessment.
When physicians have the opportunity to slow down, observe carefully, and adjust every detail, the treatment naturally becomes more individualized.
That extra time is often invisible to patients—but it can have a profound impact on the final result.
Every Face Deserves Individual Attention
No two faces age in exactly the same way.
Some people lose facial volume early.
Others develop heaviness around the jawline.
Some need stronger structural lifting.
Others benefit from a much gentler approach.
The best treatment plan is rarely the same for every patient.
That's why I never begin a procedure by asking,
"How many treatment lines should we use?"
Instead, I ask,
"What does this particular face need?"
That single question changes everything.
Beautiful Results Come From Good Decisions
Modern lifting devices are remarkably sophisticated.
But technology doesn't decide where energy should be delivered.
Technology doesn't recognize facial harmony.
Technology doesn't understand your personal goals.
Those decisions still belong to the physician.
Every line of energy placed beneath the skin represents a clinical decision.
Hundreds of small decisions eventually become one final result.
That is why thoughtful planning matters so much.
My Philosophy Has Always Been Simple
Before every procedure, I remind myself of one important fact.
This is not simply another patient.
This is someone's only face.
Someone who trusts me to help them feel more confident.
Someone who may remember today's treatment for years to come.
That responsibility should never become routine.
For me, aesthetic medicine has never been about performing as many procedures as possible.
It has always been about performing each procedure as carefully as possible.
Why I Still Ask Patients to Sit Up
After reading this series, you now know why I continue doing something that may seem unusual.
Even after a patient lies comfortably on the treatment bed, I often ask them to sit upright once more.
I observe.
I examine.
I gently lift different areas with my hands.
I redraw the treatment plan if necessary.
Only then do I begin.
Those extra few minutes are not an inconvenience.
They are part of the treatment itself.
Because beautiful lifting begins long before the first pulse of energy is delivered.
It begins with understanding the face in front of me.
The Value of Medicine Should Never Be Compromised
Healthcare continues to evolve.
Technology becomes faster.
Treatments become more efficient.
Patients have more choices than ever before.
These are positive changes.
But some things should never change.
Careful observation.
Thoughtful planning.
Respect for anatomy.
Respect for the individual.
No machine can replace those principles.
And no shortcut can substitute for genuine clinical judgment.
When patients ask me what truly determines the outcome of a lifting procedure, my answer remains exactly the same.
It isn't the brand name on the machine.
It isn't the number of treatment lines.
It isn't the latest technology.
The outcome begins with the physician who takes the time to truly understand your face.
That is why, before every lifting procedure, I still smile and say,
"Before we begin, could you please sit up and look straight at me?"
Because that's where real treatment starts.
