When people think about lifting procedures, they usually focus on one question:
"Which device should I choose?"
Ultherapy, Thermage, Onda, HIFU, RF... the list goes on.
But after years of performing aesthetic procedures, I've come to believe that this is actually the wrong question.
The better question is:
Who is holding the device?
Because the truth is surprisingly simple.
The same machine.
The same number of treatment lines.
The same amount of energy.
Yet the final results can be completely different.
The difference isn't the technology.
It's the physician behind it.
Modern Aesthetic Medicine Has Become Standardized
Today's cosmetic market is incredibly competitive.
Patients compare prices through smartphone apps, online communities, and social media.
Advertisements often focus on numbers:
- 300 Ultherapy lines
- 400 HIFU shots
- Special discounts
- Limited-time events
As a result, lifting procedures are increasingly treated like standardized products.
Many people believe that purchasing "300 shots" guarantees a certain level of improvement.
Unfortunately, aesthetic medicine doesn't work that way.
A lifting device is not a vending machine.
Medicine has never been about simply delivering a predetermined number of treatment lines.
Every human face is different.
Every aging pattern is different.
Therefore every treatment plan should also be different.
Beauty Cannot Be Mass-Produced
One of the biggest changes I've witnessed in aesthetic medicine is the rise of high-volume clinics.
Efficiency has become the priority.
Patients move quickly from consultation to treatment.
Everything is optimized for speed.
While this system may be convenient, something essential is often lost along the way:
Individualized facial analysis.
The face is not a flat surface.
Every patient has unique facial anatomy.
Different ligament strength.
Different fat distribution.
Different skin thickness.
Different patterns of aging.
Treating every patient with an identical protocol simply ignores these biological differences.
My Treatment Always Begins Before the Device Turns On
Patients are sometimes surprised by my first request.
After they lie down on the treatment bed, I often ask them to sit back up.
Some wonder why.
The answer is straightforward.
Because people don't spend their lives lying down.
Gravity constantly shapes the human face.
It influences where soft tissue descends, where shadows develop, and where aging becomes visible.
If I only examine a patient while they're lying flat, I am looking at a face that behaves very differently from the one they present to the world every day.
Before I even think about treatment settings, I want to see the patient's natural posture.
How the cheeks descend.
How the jawline changes.
How the lower face shifts under gravity.
That information cannot be fully appreciated while someone is lying on a treatment bed.
Designing Before Treating
Many people assume lifting is simply about delivering energy beneath the skin.
I see it differently.
For me, lifting begins with design.
The treatment itself is only the execution of that design.
Before touching any device, I carefully observe facial proportions, asymmetry, areas of volume loss, ligament support, and the direction in which tissue has descended over time.
Only after understanding those details do I decide:
- Which areas deserve more energy.
- Which areas should receive less.
- Which areas should be avoided altogether.
Every face tells a different story.
My responsibility is to understand that story before trying to change it.
That philosophy has shaped every lifting procedure I perform.
